HIBINO Ayumi harbours two great passions: high-mountain trekking and food of the finest quality. Bring the two together, and one finds her perched upon a summit, chopsticks in hand. Yet in this manga by SHINANOGAWA Hideo, nothing quite goes to plan for our young heroine, who finds herself, more often than not, caught in the queues of fellow trekkers who have all had precisely the same idea of spending their leisure hours in precisely the same spot. Little of this troubles Ayumi, however, for she is no great lover of company — living, as she does, largely within her own thoughts, where others fade quietly into the background, leaving only the splendour of the scenery, in perfect harmony with her culinary quest.
